Once you submit your online application we send it straight to Companies House, and the company is formed usually within one working day, subject to Companies House. Timing depends on Companies House workload and opening hours. You receive your documents by email as soon as the company is registered.
You need a unique company name. For each director and shareholder you provide full name, residential address, date of birth, nationality, occupation, telephone number, town of birth and eye colour.
No. We do not need documents to form your company. Afterwards we ask you to send ID and proof of address, within one month, so that we meet anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) rules.
Once Companies House approves your application you receive electronic copies of your certificate of incorporation (with your company number), memorandum and articles of association and share certificates. Packages with print options also include printed copies by post.
A private limited company name must end with "Limited" or "Ltd", or the Welsh equivalents "Cyfyngedig" or "Cyf". It cannot be the same as, or too similar to, another registered company name.
Yes. A UK limited company needs at least one director, aged 16 or over. At least one director must be a natural person; another company can also be a director.
Directors must provide a residential address and a service address. They can be the same or different. A separate service address keeps your home address private, and our director service address is designed for this.
