A Right to Manage company lets tenants take over management of the building they occupy from the current landlord. We form the company at the end of that process.

Who it is for
This package is for tenants who have worked through the Right to Manage process and need the company itself formed. We do not advise on the process. Please use an experienced solicitor.
Before you incorporate
- At least 50% of your fellow tenants must agree.
- No more than a quarter of the building can be non-residential (not counting common areas, stairs, halls and car parks).
- At least 66% of the leaseholders must have at least 21 years left on their lease.
- You will need to have consulted a solicitor about the freeholder's reasonable legal costs, or had your case decided by the First Tier Property Tribunal.
The process can take up to 9 months from engaging a solicitor to taking over management.

Do you advise on the Right to Manage process?
No. We form the Right to Manage company only. You are strongly advised to use an experienced solicitor for the rest.
Can the company own the building?
No. A Right to Manage company cannot acquire or own the building. To buy the property, form a property management company instead.
Where must the building be?
The registered office and premises of a Right to Manage company must be in England or Wales.
Is there a cancellation option?
Yes. Free cancellation is included in the first 12 months. We help you file the documents to dissolve the company.
