Keep your PSC register up to date
Your company must tell Companies House who owns or controls it. Add, change or remove a person with significant control, or file a PSC statement, and we review and file it for you.
Who needs it and when it is due
A person with significant control (PSC) is, broadly, someone who holds more than 25% of the company's shares or voting rights, can appoint or remove a majority of the directors, or otherwise has significant influence or control over the company. Most UK companies have at least one.
When a PSC is added, changes details or ceases, the company must update its own PSC register within 14 days of finding out and tell Companies House within a further 14 days.
We file PSC01 to PSC03 for new individual, corporate and other registrable PSCs, PSC04 to PSC06 for changes, PSC07 when someone stops being a PSC, and PSC08 and PSC09 for statements.
What we file for you
- A new PSC: an individual, a relevant legal entity or another registrable person
- Changes to a PSC's details or nature of control
- A PSC who has ceased to be one, with the date
- A PSC statement, or the withdrawal of one
- A summary to check before filing, and your company record updated on acceptance

Who counts as a person with significant control?
Broadly, someone with more than 25% of shares or voting rights, the right to appoint or remove most directors, or significant influence or control. If you are unsure, contact us before filing.
What if nobody qualifies?
A PSC statement saying so is filed instead. Choose the statement option when you start.
Is a PSC's home address public?
The residential address is held by Companies House and is not shown on the public register. The service address is public.
My company was not formed with Sure Formation. Can you still file for it?
Yes. Add the company to your account with its company number and Companies House authentication code, then start the filing from the company page. The authentication code is your proof of authority to file.
Do I need to be signed in?
Yes. Filings are made from your account so your answers, declarations and documents stay private. If you are signed out you are asked to sign in and are then brought back.
