Confirmation statement filing, done for you
Every UK limited company and LLP must confirm its details with Companies House at least once every 12 months. Check your information, answer a few questions and we review and file your confirmation statement for you.
Who needs it and when it is due
Every company registered at Companies House must file a confirmation statement at least once every 12 months, even if nothing has changed and even if the company is dormant. Each statement is made up to a date, and it must reach Companies House within 14 days after that date. The first is made up to the date 12 months after incorporation, and later ones 12 months after the previous statement.
Filing late is an offence and, if it continues, can lead to penalties and the company being struck off the register. The due date for your company is shown on the Companies House register.
What we file for you
- Confirmation that your company information is correct as at the made-up date
- Review of your directors, secretary, registered office and SIC codes
- Review of your people with significant control (PSCs)
- Shareholder and statement of capital details, for companies with share capital
- The registered email address and the statement of lawful purpose that Companies House now asks for
- A plain summary for you to check before anything is sent

What is a confirmation statement?
A yearly filing that confirms the information Companies House holds about your company is correct. It replaced the annual return in 2016.
When is my confirmation statement due?
Within 14 days after the end of your review period, which is 12 months from incorporation or from your previous statement. Check the date on your company page or the Companies House register.
What if something changed during the year?
Some changes, such as new directors or PSCs, must be reported to Companies House when they happen rather than waiting for the confirmation statement. See our director and secretary and PSC services.
What happens if I file late?
Late filing is an offence, and continued failure can lead to the company being struck off. If your statement is overdue, start the filing now.
Do dormant companies need one?
Yes. Every company on the register must file, whether or not it is trading.
My company was not formed with Sure Formation. Can you still file for it?
Yes. Add the company to your account with its company number and Companies House authentication code, then start the filing from the company page. The authentication code is your proof of authority to file.
Do I need to be signed in?
Yes. Filings are made from your account so your answers, declarations and documents stay private. If you are signed out you are asked to sign in and are then brought back.
